Harvesting workers in Ghana, in West Africa, are trained to give them the skills to enable them to work efficiently, bringing prosperity to their household and community. They believe that freedom to work encourages greater self-motivation and perseverance, for the world’s poorest and socially excluded.
Carishea has their factory in Scotland, Greenock, Inverclyde. They offer rehabilitation services to prisoners, working with the Scottish Prison Service at Greenock prison, building a unique and creative employment programme. As well as this they guarantee that no plastics are used in their products and every container is fully recyclable. In addition, a minimum of 50% of all profits goes towards the Ghanaian community development projects for health and education. This is where their worker’s harvest begins the Carishea product cycle. Carishea doesn’t pay dividends to investment bankers – instead, they choose to reinvest revenue back into the cycle that helps improve the lives of those through the production chain and create fabulous products which we love.
