It’s the start of ‘Plastic Free July’, where we make a conscious effort to reduce the amount of single use plastic we use throughout the month of July. We know that it can be really hard to reduce our plastic, but there are little changes we can all make to help make a difference. And of course, reducing our plastic use is just one part of the fight against climate change, but just because it’s only a small part doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try!
Here are four top swaps you can make to easily reduce your plastic consumption over the month of July and beyond!
Trade in your toothbrush!
Toothbrushes can be very difficult to recycle, so why not switch your toothbrush to one made of Bamboo instead?!
Made from bamboo, a natural cellulose fibre, the handles of the Environmental Toothbrushes are biodegradable, environmentally sustainable, and do not pollute the environment. The amazing growth and self-renewing ability of bamboo means that deforestation is not necessary either. Even the packaging is bio-degradable.
The toothbrush is BPA free, fairly traded and suitable for vegans.

Switch up your soap
Switch to one of our fairly traded soap or shampoo bars to dramatically reduce the amount of plastic in in your bathroom.
We have a wide selection of soaps from Honeystreet Handmade, Nablus, One Village and No Way!ste. Many can be used for both hair and body, we also have some conditioning bars too.

Keep you Coffee Cup
A great alternative to the single use, take-away cup! The bamboo cups from ecoffee are perfect for taking hot drinks out and about with you. Available in a variety of lovely prints based on William Morris design.
This cup is made with natural fibre, corn starch and resin. The lid and sleeve are made with matte, food-grade silicone which is latex-free and designed especially for hot liquids. It has a re-sealable ‘no-drip’ lid, making it perfect to take with you everywhere you go.
The whole product (cup, lid and sleeve) is dishwasher safe and should last for years if treated with care.
BPA, BPS and Phthalate free.

Refill to refresh
Say goodbye to single use plastic water bottles by investing in a reusable metal, plastic or glass bottle which you can refill over and over again. We are a dedicated Refill Station, which means if you pop in we will refill your water bottle free of charge (no purchase necessary!).
