We are passionate about raising the awareness of Fair Trade and the positive impact it can have on both people and planet. One of the ways we do this is through talking to children about what Fair Trade is and the difference choosing Fair Trade products makes to people all around the world.
We can deliver assemblies, lessons or workshops depending on requirements. We have visited both infant and junior schools as well as specialist secondary schools. Depending on the nature of the session, we will use age appropriate props, videos, games and activities to help the children to remain engaged and understand our message.
We can also arrange to bring food items for a Fair Trade tuck shop if that is something you would be interested in.
Alternatively we are always happy to welcome groups of children into the shop on trips, where they can see first hand the beautiful and interesting products we sell.
We are happy to visit schools anywhere within South Yorkshire and our rates vary depending on the amount of time you require us for – the cost will fall within £20 and £50. If the school is outside either S10 or S11 we also would ask for you to cover our travel expenses at 45p per mile.
If you would like to know more, please contact the shop either by phone or email lucy@goodtaste.org.uk
“The students were engaged and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. Lucy spoke to the students in a way that was perfect to meet their learning needs, explaining in simple language… in a relaxed and approachable manner.”
Helen Philliskirk – Bents Green Specialist School
“The Fair Trade presentation that Lucy gave to the Year 5 classes was clear, informative and engaging, therefore giving opportunity for some really good questions from the children. I highly recommend Lucy as an ambassador for Fair Trade.”
