Margot is a Sheffield born artist who is inspired by the wildlife, and landscapes to be found around the city and in the Peak District.

“I have always been fascinated by the way light changes a scene and transforms something from being dull to being magical with colour emerging from the shadows, and dappled light casting sunbeams where nothing existed before.

Driving to work in the early morning in the east end of Sheffield, I was always distracted by the stunning skies overhead. Those amazing cloud forms which came from beyond the horizon; from cold places, exotic places, oceans and wild landscapes and which were always so transient. I always found them an uplifting contrast to the world of the indoors.

Since 2016 I have been trying to capture the beauty which I see on my doorstep. These cards are a snap shot of some of the paintings I’ve produced during this period.”
