This week we have received a new product from Lanka Kade, a company that creates fair trade toys and gifts. Indeed we have now new designed capital wooden alphabet letters in our shop, which is a good idea for a child birthday!
Where are they from?
These letters come from Sri Lanka and they are made by Sri Lankan families. However there is no child labour and no discrimination.
How are they made?
They are designed in the U.K, but they are all produced in Sri Lanka. They are made from rubber wood sourced from exhausted plantations that are replanted. And they are all hand painted!
Why buy these letters?
This idea of creating toys has changed many lives. These small producers can now live in better conditions, give their children education, or just live an happy life!
“My only wish is to stay working for the toy company and lead a happy life.” Karunawathi, a woman who works for the company.

These wooden alphabet letters are also a finalist for Gift of The Year.
