Introducing our product of the month for April…

This month our featured product is the ‘Floats and Boats’ bag collection from Just Trade UK.

This boldly coloured collection of wash and cosmetic bags were inspired buy the picturesque British sea side town.  The bags are made from cotton linen which is hand-dyed in bright summer colours and then each one is embroidered afterwards in a small workshop in Hanoi, Vietnam.

This project provides marginalised men and women with a stable employment with Just Trade.  This gives them the financial security and self confidence to improve their lives and that of their families.  The artisans have a safe working environment and are encouraged to learn new skills and given the opportunity to progress within the company.  The project also works with artisans working in provincial villages, employing over one hundred people in Hanoi and surrounding areas.

We love these bags, they are modern and on trend as well as being practical and coming in a range of sizes.  My particular favourite is the large sized wash bag as I like to be able to take all my shampoos, creams and perfumes away with me in one bag! But there is a size for everyone whether you are a minimalist traveller or like me, prefer to take the entire contents of your bathroom!! There is also a cute purse and glasses case to complete the collection.

Complimenting the ‘Floats and Boats’ collection is the new range of nautical themed hammered brass jewellery, also from Just Trade UK.  Three different design of necklace are available all with a classic seaside design – come and have a browse and decide whether you want the anchor, the seahorse or seagull (or all three!!).  Jump on board with the nautical style a huge trend for spring/summer 2017.
