Interview With Myself

Hi, I’m Hope, a new addition to the staff here at Good Taste. I thought I’d introduce myself, and answer a few questions about my life in and out of the shop.

How did you get involved with helping at Good Taste?

I was hired by Good Taste as part of a six month long Kickstarter scheme, after a successful interview with Jenny and Lucy. (Who were lovely and made me feel at ease straight away during the questions.) My main job is looking after the website and the online store, but I also create blogs and manage the Twitter and Pinterest pages. You’ll see me in the shop 2 days a week or more.

Why do you think Fairtrade is important?

I have always been a strong advocate for equality and fairness, whether that’s in terms of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, or class etc. Fair wages for skilled work is an equally important issue. Ethical practises and fairtrade shopping can provide sustainable incomes, community support, and education for artisans and their families around the globe.

What is your favourite Fairtrade product?

My favourite Fairtrade product is new to our shop – the Lavender Notebook from the Sucseed collection by Vent for Change. It’s a beautiful piece of stationery made from recycled paper and lavender flowers. Great for planning your day or using as a dream journal.

What do you like most about living in Sheffield?

I moved to Sheffield from Nottingham a few years ago to study Creative Writing at Hallam. When I completed my degree, I decided to stay a little longer. Sheffield has become my second home. I love the shopping destinations, the gardens, and the friends I’ve made here.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

As an aspiring writer, a large majority of my spare time is consumed by my creative projects. I plan, draft, edit, and research… a lot. I’m also a book lover, (could you guess?) and audiobook enthusiast. When I want to relax after a hard day at work, I’ll grab a colouring book and watch cartoons, anime, disney films, or a musical.

I hope you learnt a little bit about me after reading this post.

With love,

Good Taste
