TASTE Latrines and WASH Workshop

TASTE Latrines and WASH Workshop

TASTE Latrines and WASH Workshop – Back in June we posted our TASTE Update Blog, which informed you of the news that TASTE had completed their project to repair two boreholes for a village community in the Plateau State of Nigeria. This project was funded by a £5000 donation by us from our first years profits. We’re a not-for-profit business, so we were delighted to help such a worthwhile cause.

After the boreholes had been fully repaired, there were still enough funds available to further help the village community. TASTE allocated the funds to build five latrines and to set up a WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) workshop. The purpose of this workshop is to help villages understand the root causes of water related diseases. Also to teach the correct use of the water & sanitation facilities. Further, a local committee is assigned to ensure that all practices of good basic hygiene learned at the workshop are maintained.
